Cv to Logo?

Screen_shot_2011-08-23_at_00

I have created a new Logo for my brand identity. Its simple but shows everything you need to know, my name which I must admit at first was hard to put into a logo with out shortening. The slightly transparent logo in the background symbolizing my interest in illustration. Then the areas I like to delve into as a designer. The colours are very muted, which doesn't reflect all my work but for this design it would be very easy to change the colour. I have chosen to reflect the shadow of my name, there’s no real meaning to it, I did it purely for the fact I wanted to inject a touch of colour!

This is the example of the CV that I have based my Logo around, using the same font and colours. I like the layout it’s simple, easy to read and gives the reader all the right information in the right order. At first I did play round with the type, tried different and layout but I disliked what I was doing so I decided to stick with I liked and was comfortable with.

This is my alternative CV that I am not quite sure about; I have negative and positive thoughts on it but finding it hard to change. Firstly, I dislike the colour of the whole thing, it’s not me but I have tried it in so many darker/bold colours that don’t seem to look right. Again the text does look quite dull I get a slightly Menu look. The positive is that I like the logo, which supposed to be a scribble with my name hidden inside; this has a meaning to it, as I often use my scribbles for inspiration for drawing. I also like the self-portrait at the bottom of the page, add a personal touch. In conclusion I need to rework this document...

TIMOTHY GREENWOOD MEMORIAL WILDLIFE ARTISTS COMPETITION Entry

I have entered this competition as I thought it would be a great opportunity to get back into drawing. The brief was to illustrate/paint wildlife. We where given a choice of wildlife e.g. Game birds, Scottish Wildlife, Birds. I decided to go with African Wild life as it offered the most interesting animals to draw. I knew I wanted to use ink and three colours, so I chose three animals with animals with similar colours.

Making my own Playing Cards

I thought to myself how cool would it be to get out a deck of cards when playing a game with your mates and for them to be designed by you! So, i have decided to do it. I have started with drawing the top cards characters, King, Queen, Jack and Joker.

Queen
Jack
Joker
King
not sure on the king yet...

I have designed the back of the card, a basic pattern and colour theme that i want incorporate into  my whole card set. Very bold, black and red.

I feel this will really inspire me on all levels to create not only characters but new patterns and a font. I want this card set to once done to be printed professionally then i could also possibly send it to possible employers to accompany my cv as an extra quirky bonus!
