A trip to the Big City

I have recently been feeling not to inspired with pushing my project. So i decided that a change of scenery was much needed. With a friend I took a spontaneous trip up to London for inspiration and what not. Monday 13/2/2012, to my dismay and lack of prior research i found that all the galleries that i wanted to visited where closed. Monday is apparently an off day for galleries.. who knew, not me. So I just swanned around Brick Lane and Covent Garden on the look out for things that caught my eye visually. I found that most of my attention was attracted to the graffiti in the surrounding area. I enjoyed snapping a few photographs to remember them by so i may refer back to. I was very inspired by some of the illustrations done on the walls. I thought that they may not really capture me but they did. I have seen all these kinds of illustrations before but what grabbed my attention that day was the scale. The pure size of the illustrations where mesmerising and the positioning on the walls puzzled me. I felt as if the illustrations where challenging the buildings them selfs.

So on my route to London for inspiration was worth wild! And came back with ideas of scale which i hadn't considered before. I wish to plan on making something to a different scale weather it be small or very large.

On my journey around London I also used the Tube as my from of transport. I have kept a small Tube map that is offered free for anyone to keep to help them understand the system. I will refrence to this small peice of paper as it really helped me get around. Giving the small map a big purpose.

Here a some of the photo's I took from my day in London:
