EMP- Mapping Vis-com

I have taken it upon my self to map the room of vis-com. I wanted to this, so i could have a better understanding of my surroundings. By doing this experiment i can analyse where my my class mates sit in the room that I work in. I have realise that for the time that i have been in this class which is a total of 3 years. As a class we havn't moved are arrangement of seating much and we rarely venture to another spot.

From this I can guess that people are naturally drawn to familiar environments and people. I have taken account of each person in my class and their favourite colour and mapped them on a plan of the class room. I have placed each person as they are sat everyday whilst in class.

I have learnt from this experiment that people are drawn to familiar situations and over time become a  custom to sticking to the same things e.g. seating. Mapping the most simple things can really bring to light facts that previously would have gone unoticed.

In this design I have found the ceiling beams in class affecting my design. I like the overlapping effect of the breaks in the ceiling over the names in the class. This division of the room could be seen as the division of people in the class and friend groups. I would like to explore more with how an environment can reflect the happening in a room. Reflecting the division or the emotions in the room.
