We had a class critique today aimed at getting peer assessment and us discussing. We were given the task of making a short presentation to describe what direction we were taking our EMP's. Whilst making this presentation I wanted not to only clarify to my audience but to myself. As I was still not too sure how I was going to take this mapping brief. In a spontaneous thought I came up with the idea I pitched. It seemed to be successful, which I was very relieved about, as I have been struggling with finding a context.

Above you can find my presentation. If you scan through it you will be able to understand where I am now at with my project. The critique gave me the opportunity to show my piers at uni what I have been up to. This opportunity has benefited me with valuable comments on sheets provided. These sheets had three columns to comment, named Clarity of Brief? Quality/ Link to aims? And Developments/ reference suggestions?

There where nine piers in my group who all made valid comments, that I work and reflect on:

(break down of comments)

1- Clarity of Brief:

Very clear brief. Clear. Tick. Really clear brief. Interesting. Nice solid idea, I think a lot to work with. Very clear and understandable. You are here. Clear.

2- Quality/ Link to aims:

Lots of experimentation, very good. Blank. Links well and you could explore way finding. Fits with both, I like it. Very clear. How will you tell the story, what’s the story? Yes, keep exploring and researching. Great research so far, love the experiments. The idea has developed a lot since i last saw it but I really like it.

3- Developments/ reference suggestions:

I think you've done all the right research so just keep building on it. Outcome has so many possibilities, deffo think BIG! Look at Lord of the Rings - Middle Earth. Check at the Jolly Postman- Child book, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close- Illustrated books (abstract journey). With all the information you have, notepads ect you could produce an archive, organise information. Geo-tagging, wined magazine, 2 mouths ago- Decode One Dot Zero. Research and experiment to help with solutions and ideas. Change media every time birdy visits a different place. See how people navigate, look at how people leave trails e.g., breadcrumbs, airplane exhaust and foot prints.
