I have decided to aim my book at young adults; I want to attract this target audience with a subject that normally wouldn't be considered as their first main activity. I wanted to tackle the task of making walking and bird watching more of a fashionable activity. I aim to do this by remaking two books that I own, these books are in themselves very interesting and give a helpful amount of information on both of the subjects. I want to combine the two books and make them more appealing. These two books are called 'The Ultimate Guide to Birds of the British Isles' by Parragon Books (2012) and 'Walking the East Jurassic Cost' Coastal Publishing (17 May 2010).

The first book 'The Ultimate Guide to Birds of the British Isles' has information on all the birds in Britain. This book is one of the best and most simply laid out book. The book offers easy to read information and simple pictures.

Identifies more than 180 popular species. Details distinctive features, habitats, calls and plumage. Illustrated throughout with superb full-colour photographs. Includes detailed maps showing distribution throughout the year.

The information provided in this book is simply laid out and the maps’ showing the routes are clear and correspond well with the information.

Will feature up to 20 walks covering this visually stunning and geologically unique area. Packed with accessible geological and historical information, the route of each walk is overlaid onto aerial photography showing walkers the landscape and features, followed by a description of each walk and information about the area. Essential walking companions for families and serious walkers alike, produced to a high standard whilst maintaining an affordable price. These books will appeal to families and individuals wishing to explore and understand the area as well as, photographers, travellers, visitors to the region, geologists and local historians. They will also make an excellent gift.

I want to draw information from these books to help me write my book, this will give me reliable source of information. I aim to look at both of these book and condense the information to relate to what I particularly want to show the reader. I also will be choosing a select amount of walks and birds from these books.

The birds I will be choosing will have to be from Britain and either live or migrate to the Jurassic Cost. Making my book have an extra level of interest, so when going for your walk you could possibly spot these birds on your journey.
